Yashasvi Jaiswal became the youngest player in the history of Test cricket to score a triple century, making 312 not out against England at Wankhede Stadium in the first Test of India home series. The innings, spanning 448 balls and containing 34 fours and eight sixes, surpassed the previous mark for the fastest triple century by balls faced in Indian Test history. Jaiswal, 23, added 367 runs with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket to put India in a commanding position from which England never recovered, eventually losing by an innings and 178 runs. England Captain Ben Stokes admitted after the match that no team in world cricket has a batting lineup capable of challenging India in Indian conditions at this time. Jaiswal has now scored six double centuries in 22 Test innings, a frequency no player in history has achieved.
