India para athletes concluded the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with a record 29 medals — seven gold, nine silver, and thirteen bronze — finishing 18th on the overall medal tally, the highest-ever finish for a Paralympic India contingent. Avani Lekhara retained her gold in the 10m air rifle and became India most decorated Paralympic athlete with a total of four medals across two Games. Sumit Antil defended his javelin gold with a world record throw of 70.59 metres that was met with a standing ovation at the Stade de France. India Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities announced a total cash award of Rs 45 crore for the contingent. Paralympic Committee of India credited the result to the Khelo India Para Games and a target-based training programme that tracked each athlete across 120 measurable performance parameters.
