India breaks the 4x100m relay national record with 37.84 seconds at World Relays, qualifying directly for Paris 2028 Olympics.

India men 4x100 metre relay team shattered the national record at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, clocking 37.84 seconds to finish fourth overall and qualify directly for the Paris 2028 Olympics relay event. The quartet of Mohammed Anas, Amlan Borgohain, Srinivasa Gowda, and Gurindervir Singh completed the fastest recorded 4x100m in Indian history, breaking the previous mark of 38.24 seconds set at the 2023 Asian Games. World Athletics President Sebastian Coe personally congratulated the Indian federation, noting the improvement was one of the largest single-championship national record margins in relay history. Chief National Athletics Coach Radhakrishnan Nair said the achievement validated a two-year programme of sprint-specific periodisation and biomechanical coaching introduced after the Paris Olympics.
