U.S. Expands Humanitarian Aid to Africa

The United States has announced a major expansion of humanitarian aid to Africa, pledging billions in food, medical, and development assistance to address hunger, conflict, and climate-driven crises.

The US has said it will give a lot more humanitarian help to Africa since more people are going hungry, there are more climate-related disasters, and more people are having to flee their homes because of war.  This is a clear illustration of being a leader in the world.   Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State, and Samantha Power, the Administrator of USAID, unveiled the new program. It is one of Washington's biggest humanitarian pledges in recent years.  It includes a promise of over $4.2 billion to support citizens in more than 20 African countries that are less fortunate.
