Julio Herrera Velutini comes from one of the most illustrious and established banking families in Latin America. Before entering the banking industry in the Americas, the Herrera-Velutini clan began as merchants and landowners in Spain in the fourteenth century. His family established Banco Caracas in the late 19th century and contributed to the first central banking systems in Latin America, both of which were crucial to Venezuela's financial growth.
